City of Rochester is Hiring a Director of Investigations Near Rochester, NY
- Directs the activities of and oversees mid-level staff in the Police Accountability Board’s Investigations Division responsible for conducting investigations into allegations of Officer wrongdoings;
- Oversees and conducts investigations into instances of potential officer wrongdoing by responding to scenes of critical incidents; collecting documents, videos, and photographs; interviewing witnesses and officers; and analyzing evidence;
- Reviews all legal documents produced by attorneys in the Investigations Division;
- Conducts high level legal research and renders legal opinions in the Police Accountability Board’s Executive Office, Investigations Division, or Oversight & Policy Division;
- Enforces the Board’s policies by drafting evidentiary reports to be presented to the Police Accountability Board;
- Presents facts and law to Board panels at evidentiary hearings;
- Performs legal work necessary to bring accountability and transparency to the powers exercised by sworn officers of the Rochester Police Department.
Graduation from a law school of recognized standing AND four (4) years of experience as a lead attorney admitted to practice in New York State, one (1) year of which included the direct supervision of other attorneys.
